Turkey fryer oil & grease
Don't pour cooking oil or grease into the sink or any drain. Pour it into a small container to cool and harden, cap or cover it tightly, put it in a bag to prevent leaks and put it in your garbage. Metro also recycles household grease at the Omohundro (1019 Omohundro Pl.), Ezell Pike (3254 Ezell Pike) and East (943A Dr. Richard G. Adams Dr.) convenience centers.
Extra trash
Items placed outside your cart won't be picked up, and trash must be bagged. Take excess trash to a Metro convenience center. Residents can request one additional trash cart for $65.
Boxes & wrapping
Flatten cardboard and put it loose in the recycling cart, not in a plastic bag. Plastic bags, plastic wrap and bubble wrap are not accepted, and glass goes only to drop-off sites. Recycling is collected every other week.
Tip
Thursday customers: your Thanksgiving-week pickup is the next Monday, so keep the lid closed and hold extra bags until then or use a convenience center.
