Port St. Lucie November 2026 flooding: trash pickup & debris
Last updated:
Current status
The St. Lucie County Landfill closed because of flooding, so FCC Environmental Services did not collect on Tuesday, Nov. 3. The City said the landfill was expected to reopen Wednesday, Nov. 4, with collection resuming at 6 a.m. on the holiday schedule: every pickup day shifts to the next service day, including Saturday.
What to do
- Put your garbage cart at the curb before 6 a.m. on your shifted pickup day.
- Tuesday routes are being serviced Wednesday; missed Monday routes are being picked up at the end of each workday through the week.
- If you're missed, leave your cart and materials at the curb until they're collected. FCC expects to finish all routes by Saturday, weather permitting.
- Report a missed Monday pickup to 1PSL at 772-871-1775.
- When you clean up storm debris, the City asks residents to separate it into four piles: garbage, vegetative debris, building materials, and furniture. Keep yard and bulk piles away from trees and power lines, since trucks can't pick up under them.
- The City says debris collection begins as soon as it's safe. It had not announced a separate flood-debris pickup date as of Nov. 4.
